Physiatry, also known as Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), is a medical specialty that focuses on improving patients function. From patients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), strokes, amputees, to sports injuries, or pain, the spectrum of patients that a Doctor of PM&R, known as a Physiatrist, treats includes anyone who has had a functional decline for any reason.
